One Adventure At A Time

New Zealand

New Zealand is a paradise we never knew we needed. It is every backpackers dream filled with hikes, busy cities, campgrounds, and more stars than we can count. New Zealand is all about the adventure and the story. Do not be afraid to take the plunge off of the highest points or race down the mountain on Go Karts.

                                      Tips for New Zealand

  1. Go Bungee Jumping - It can be scary, but this is where it all started.

  2. Rent a car/van and sleep under the stars - there is tons of parking and campgrounds that allows you to take it all in.

  3. Visit Milford Sound - Its a Journey by car, but totally worth it. Majestic water tour, such beauty.

  4. Enjoy a Pint with the locals - Some of the friendliest people I have met, and it makes sense why you should embrace other travelers.

  5. See the Hobbit locations - If you are a film buff, it is cool see where it all came together.

Peru

Home of Machu Picchu and land of the Alpacas, this gem of a country in South America has so many offerings.

                                               Tips for Peru

  1. Visit Machu Picchu - This stunning Wonder of the Modern World is a must see. Easy to book a travel guide.

  2. Give yourself time to adjust to the altitude - Or take elevation sickness pills

Give yourself several days in Cusco in order take in all the nature you can/ There are several great hikes up to Machu Picchu, but also to Rainbow Mountain, etc. A solid week would give you plenty of time to enjoy the great Andes Mountains. This does include cuisine as well, so don't be afraid to try Pizza with Alpaca meat or the local delicacy. the Guinea Pig. Take a bite, get a photo, and share the smile.

Australia

Australia is the land down under! Completely filled with sun, sun, and more sun during the summer seasons so make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen. Australia is famous for many beaches so don't be afraid to try something new like surfing or sand boarding. Whatever you choose to do, it will be an unforgettable experience. This is also a great place to try a kangaroo or emu pizza, YUM!

Costa Rica

Costa Rica quickly became one of my all time favorite places I was able to visit. The country has everything that a getaway is needing. Equipped with beaches on both sides, mass amounts of jungles, and a nightlife that screams memory making. For me, Costa Rica is the perfect place to mark off those items on your bucket list such as zip lining, rock climbing, waterfalls, floating down a river, horseback riding, or mud spa. Honestly, why not do all those things in once day!

Colombia

A little gem in South America, Colombia has so much to offer, especially first time visitors to the continent to the south. My experience in Cartagena was a classic of exploration, friendly people, and cheap and delicious food. My recommendations for Colombia is to embrace the culture, learn a bit about the people, and try an escapade to the mud volcano where you will experience weightlessness and feeling you have never felt. Relax and let the locals take care of you.

Brazil

Of course I had to visit Rio De Janeiro during Carnival, but Sao Paulo is a wonderful city to add to your list. And they are close enough to take a bus ride between the two without losing too much time. We started in Sao Paulo, enjoyed the evening, and then took a super early bus to Rio De Janeiro. We slept the entire way. My advice with Rio is to have fun, but be careful. It is not the safest city and being a tourist, you become an easy target. So keep your items close to you and stay with your friends. Always better to be safe than sorry, especially in a huge tourist time like Carnival!
